To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer / Engineer for Drive Technology with an interest in solar energy.

Your Tasks

As a Mechanical Engineer / Engineer for Drive Technology, your focus will be on Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technologies and photovoltaic systems. Your tasks will include analyzing and developing drive technology solutions for parabolic trough and solar tower power plants as well as photovoltaic power plants. You will also be involved in the development of load-bearing structures and handle interfaces with electrical and control technology. Last but not least, your responsibilities include testing and evaluating laboratory and field experiments.

In this role, you will be integrated into a highly motivated, self-organized, and interdisciplinary team, which includes physicists, energy technicians, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, drive and electrical engineers, and aerospace engineers. By developing, planning, and implementing innovative solar concepts, you will be at the forefront of technology, gaining new insights daily and continuously expanding your expertise. Externally, you will communicate with cooperation partners and clients, while internally, you will serve as a supportive sparring partner for your team.

Your Profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable field
  • Ideally, practical experience in electromechanical drive technology and knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Solid experience in control engineering
  • Experience in designing, building, and operating test setups and prototype systems, followed by result analysis
  • Knowledge of optical components, particularly mirrors, is desirable
  • Interest in statics and steel structures
  • Proficient in common CAD programs (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor) and ideally knowledgeable in a programming language (e.g. Python)
  • Enthusiasm for the field of solar energy production
  • Good German and English language skills
  • Strong team skills, problem-solving competence, and an independent working style
